What are our guest saying?
I just want to get off a little note to you to thank you for giving us a fantastic week. I have been fishing saltwater for 20 years and several in our group have a lot of seniority over me, we all agree that this trip is on the top of our list. Everyone had a great time and many good things to say. Great fishing, fantastic accommodations, and a staff that is absolutely the best, that includes the best group of guides I have ever fished with. Everyone in the group was really impressed with the guides, not a one less than AAA. Beautiful facilities and great location, I don't know what else anyone could ask for. I need to be brief, got to get ready for my trip to italy with Gail, departing Thursday to Roma. But as great as Italy is (it is Gail's favorite place on earth),
I will remember my week at Grand Slam for a long, long time.
Look forward to connecting with you soon.

It was a pleasure to see you again, and beat ourselves up on the foredecks, hunting Permit.
I'm either gonna catch one, shoot myself, or quit trying...maybe all three
Ultranice facility. Great food and wonderful guides (even Javier, who cannot be comprehend, especially with wind blowing over deaf ears). Hardworking cheerful men, with GREAT eyes and every one a real fish hunter. How can we ask for more?
Take care. My best to all
you guys did a number on me and I am really having a tough time reentering. Constantly thinking of GSL, you, Robin, "Gaspar & Tomas" and others. My bucket list has at least one more time to GSL. Dianne said she loved it as well - said she would return.
Hope things are going well! Best and regards to ALL!
Just getting around from a crazy couple of weeks since we got back. Thanks for a great fishing experience. You run a first class operation - great service from you staff, great food, and a spotless lodge. Keep up the good work and I have no double that the Grand Slam Lodge with the be "go to lodge" in the area in no time.
Hope to see you in October.

The moment our group arrived at the lodge the feeling of happiness and relaxation radiated from the entire staff. Sparking wine and appetizers were served as we checked in and we were escorted to our luxurious room and shown its many amenities. The Rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable and all had excellent views of the bay. The Bar and Restaurant were staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people seeking to meet our every need. Food was excellent and served with artistic presentation. The grounds and beaches were well kept and clean.Fishing was excellent and all the guides were very professional. Each had their own area of expertise which provided the angler with good variety. It was a great experience to stay at the Grand Slam Fishing Lodge and I would definitely return and recommend to friends and colleagues.
Colter Anderson, Global Sporting Safaris
I have fished all over the world working for global sporting safaris and found Grand slam lodge to be an incredibly welcoming lodge. Even a non angler would find plenty to do at grand slam. The staff is great, food excellent, and fishing Superb. The guides were extremely knowledgeable about the local Waters and I felt confident everyday that we would find fish! And that’s exactly what we did! I can't wait to get back to grand slam fishing lodge! Thanks Everyone for the great trip!
Grand Slam Lodge is more than just another fishing lodge on Ascension Bay; it’s a place where the rooms, food and service match some of the best lodges anywhere. Great food, beautiful rooms, and the elusive Grand Slam are all there for the taking. I felt like the staff read my mind from the moment I arrived. Can’t wait to return!
As you get close to the lodge you hope the driver slows down to indicate you have arrived because the facilities are so nice. Before you can even stretch you are greeted by the staff with a warm smile, cool glass of champagne, and tasty appetizers. It only gets better when you are escorted to your room; the only way to describe it is simply, “wow!” You’ll swivel from the beautiful bed to the Jacuzzi and 52” flat screen TV. It’s great to have that thought of “this is MY room”. The bathroom and shower continue this theme.
The restaurant/bar is hard to describe without photos. You can lounge on the front porch in comfy couches or sit in the swinging chairs at the bar before dinner. I recommend both. Dinner does not disappoint either. From the appetizer to main course to desert there is a wonderful blend of traditional local food and classic cuisine.
Now, it is bold to call yourself The Grand Slam Fishing Lodge due to the rarity of the achievement. I only had three days of fishing on this trip and had opportunities at all the species fly anglers covet: permit, bonefish, tarpon and snook. The local guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and speak adequate amounts of English, which makes it great for novices and experts.
I will leave you with one more thing that I think you should know. The road from Tulum heading south to the lodge is pretty bumpy and slow going. Although it is rough going for a couple of hours it is definitely worth it to get to this incredible lodge that pays attention to all the little details.

South of the Tulum, the shores and flats off Mexico's Sian Ka'an Reserve offer world class angling for fishing's most treasured inshore target species. But if it's amenities you want to go along with your sport, the spanking new Grand Slam Fishing Lodge is the hands-down winner. Beautiful rooms with unexpected appointments from class artwork to a Jacuzzi, to modern electronic entertainment equipment, fabulous food, blue-chip service, great guides and beachside indulgences for the non-fisher. Really, what else could you want?
